This post brought to you. All opinions are 100% mine. Is it possible to have a computer monitor that is too large? More is always better when it comes to screen real estate. But adding a 2nd monitor to your desktop or your laptop setup can be a hassle because they require a power cable and a video cable, not to mention that they are usually heavy and bulky. The LT1421 14″ LCD monitor with Plastic Cover solves both of these problems beautifully. You can even carry it with you in your gear bag because it’s so portable. Note: Click the images in this review to see a larger view. I’m familiar with Lenovo’s high quality products as that is the brand of laptops, desktops and workstations that we use at my day job (Cummins Inc.). The ThinkVision LT1421 is a 14″ widescreen LCD monitor that is considerably different than other LCD monitors that I’ve used because it has been designed with extreme portability in mind. It almost looks like a tablet computer doesn’t it? It comes with a plastic cover that snaps on the front to protect the display when you’re carrying it with you, and doubles as a tray for the adjustable stand built into the back of the monitor. ThinkVision USB Monitor 1452-DM6 Sync Issues 07:05 AM Whenever I plug this monitor in, usually the display comes up out of sync (wavy lines and unreadable). May 11, 2016 Interestingly if I use a different Mac on this monitor, it will only run the monitor at 4K/60Hz using a Display Port cable, but with HDMI it is limited to 30Hz at 4K. If I dual boot the same hardware into Windows 10, it'll happily run the monitor at 4K/60Hz over HDMI and DP. Together, the monitor and the cover only weigh 2.25 lbs, so it is very portable. On the back of the monitor, you’ll find a Kensington lock slot, and a brightness adjustment button for 16 level brightness. The only connector is a USB 2.0 connection on the left side of the display when you’re facing it. That’s right, the LT1421 does not have a video cable connector or even a power cord connector. Both video and power use a simple USB cable. This monitor lacks a VESA mount, so it’s designed just for use on a flat surface instead of mounting to a wall or a specialized bracket. I found there was a UDF file system driver v. 5.1.2600.5512 from MS already on my device (name/location: C: Windows system32 dllcache udfs.sys and C: Windows system32 drivers udfs.sys), but it apparently it was not doing the job. Sep 28, 2018 UDF is a standard, current file format. If previous versions of Windows wrote these discs, Microsoft has a responsibility to ensure that current versions of Windows continue to. Microsoft really is not that interested in Microsoft system drivers it would appear.. Probably another imagined security threat. Right-clicking the.inf file and a left-click on 'install' was all that was needed to put it in. The file is predictably placed in C: Windows system32 drivers in case you need to delete it. Cannot seem to get the Toshiba driver to install I have followed the procedure that is described in the post. I see the system trying to install the thdudf.inf file, I wait a while and then reboot. When I go into the hardware manager and look at the driver it never changes from the old default windows one. Is there something that I am missing? I am running windows xp home with service pack 3. My drive is the Lg super multi blue (HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW UH12LS28) I bought this deive hoping to play blu ray disks on my dekstop computer and I am realy frustrated that it will not recognize and play blu ray disks. Thank you in advance. I was disappointed that the BD ISO mounter didn't work and then I did another search and found this thread. I installed the driver and it now works! You really should include this information with the installer for the MANY of us still using XP. I even installed the trial of PowerISO and it couldn't mount a BD even after I installed this driver. I wrote the vendor and was told that it didn't work with XP! Not only that, when I opened a BD ISO in the program to extract it, it needed to save it as another unknown format first, taking literally 3 hours. I aborted it and uninstalled the program. What a POS!!! Is there a way to get the bluray icon as well on XP? I have gone back to this issue after doing a recovery of XP Pro SP2. I am using a Toshiba PC. The executable in WinXp_UDF_2.50_Drivers.zip gives the familiar message that it can't be installed. I wonder if it is expecting HD DVD (which I don't have at all), which seems what this update was originally meant for. The executable in udf-pqg32-hd-xpmce-1003.zip did run and installs the UDF update. Also, there is a version difference between the downloads of the thdudf.sys file. The version in WinXJP_UDF_2.5_Drivers.zip that I downloaded via the link on this forum, is version 1.0.0.0. Udf-pqg32-hd-xpmce-1003.zip which I downloaded from this thread has 1003 in its name so assume it is 1.0.0.3, I didn't use the *.inf file directly for this executable. It isn't in the zip file. I found the thdudf.sys file by searching and it is version 1.0.0.3. I have a download of UDFReaderv25.zip from a while ago, I forget where I got it from, that has version 1.0.0.3 of the thdudf.sys file. I wonder if the uninstall file only works with version 1.0.0.0. I tried the Microsoft patch, and I agree with others that it is no good. I don't use my PC to play blurays generally. I had no trouble with the Toshiba UDF version before this present restore as far as I could tell. Imgburn and AnyDVD don't need UDF 2.50 installed. Lando Norris believes being paired with Carlos Sainz rather than Fernando Alonso next season is a better move for McLaren’s future as it looks to rebuild. McLaren is currently the lowest-ranked Renault-powered team in sixth place and has endured a run of uncompetitive years, with the team finishing no higher than fifth in the constructors’ championship since 2013. While a technical restructuring has been ongoing throughout 2018, next year will also see a brand new driver line-up, and rookie Norris feels McLaren will benefit from having two younger drivers as Alonso leaves Formula 1. “As much as I would have loved to partner Fernando — which I did manage to do for three laps at Monza — for as much as I admire Fernando and I loved working with him from Daytona all the way through McLaren, I think for the longevity of McLaren and helping them improve as a team together I think having Carlos is another thing where we can really push each other together,” Norris said. “I think Fernando, if he was here again next year, he would definitely help the team improve but I think going throughout all the years it is good teams have fresh starts every now and then. McLaren confirmed Thursday that Carlos Sainz will race for its team in the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship. Sainz replaces fellow Spaniard Fernando Alonso (pictured at right, with Sainz) – who announced earlier this week that he would not return to F1 next year – on the team. McLaren says it. Peugeot's Carlos Sainz Wins the 2018 Dakar Rally Driver Carlos Sainz and co-driver Lucas Cruz overcame drama and penalties to win the 2018 Dakar Rally. Luis Moya, former co-driver for World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz, is recovering at home in Spain after surgery for a cerebral aneurysm, reports RallySport Magazine. After his operation, he posted. Especially with where McLaren are now. “I don’t think it is a bad thing or a good thing that I am going with Carlos. I look forward to working with him as I have never spoken to him or met him so I look forward to it. “It is a shame because I really would have loved the opportunity to drive with Fernando. Hopefully I will in the future whether it is in Formula 1 or some endurance race. I would like to. But for McLaren and myself I think it is the best thing.” With Zak Brown saying Norris is as quick as anyone McLaren has seen at his age, the 18-year-old was asked if he was faster than Alonso during their Daytona run earlier this year and in practice in Monza, to which he replied: “No comment! “I guess all drivers want to think they are faster than anyone else, but I think it is hard to compare. If I was doing a whole season alongside him then I think there could be a very even comparison but I think that the biggest opportunity I had was to race with him at Daytona. “Even though he was five or six kilos heavier than me I think the lap times were pretty even because the car was ballasted to my weight and not to his which is obviously a good thing for me. “I don’t think it is a thing I need to know or work out, I think it is a thing I can have in the back in my mind of how I did at Monza and Daytona against him. I can’t even say to myself if I know I am fast or slow but in a few years if I can end up being quicker than what he was it is very difficult to say at the moment.”,. 'In the end, the Sound Blaster X7 works best like a sound card that crawled out the computer, merged with a headphone amp, and went a little crazy, absorbing other devices and adding newer features to itself like a stereo amp, a surround sound processor, and a slick NFC Bluetooth interface. I know this should be fairly easy but it seems to be more complicated than I expected. Perhaps I am making it so. Here is my problem. I know I am behind the curve but I am finally upgrading my dimension 8100 up to Vista and thus need the sound card drivers. Bosch 1/4' Hex Impact Driver Kit # 25618-02, 18V Lithium-ion, New in the box. 1/4' Quick release, variable speed trigger, built in LED light. A bit long as I just used it as impact driver not a socket driver. So it came straight off Seriously great tool if you have the Bosch 18v. Bosch PDR 18v LI Features • High Torque and Impact Force - Driving screws can be hard for beginners handling DIY projects. The Bosch PDR 18 LI Cordless Impact Driver works best for those who are looking for great power. Its high impact force and high torque offers optimum performance, especially for screws that are to be drilled into wood and metal. • High-Performance Motor - This driver comes with a high-performance motor, which runs on reduced current. This enables it to function with a predominantly long run-time and amplified proficiency, due mainly to its powerful battery with 1.5 Ah capacity and a 1-hour quick charger. What Others Say About Bosch With the increasing number of people taking notice of the Bosch PDR 18 LI Cordless Impact Driver, most of them have given great feedback on the product’s performance. One review had stated that: 'It was definitely a great buy, noting that it was super easy to use, and that it is very powerful. Its additional batteries also make the product useful for the whole day' Many also congratulated Bosch for being able to produce another exemplary product which DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike can add to their toolbox. But then again, other reviewers also mentioned one minor product problem - the product stops working every now and then and works back again. Nevertheless, this has been the only issue seen by a rather small amount of users. For the majority of users, the product has been noted to perform extremely well and is surely worthy of its price. Room for Improvement? As some users say, the product sometimes stops working and then suddenly starts up again. This is typically a minor product issue, considering that the product is working really well for the majority of users, especially as far as power and convenience are concerned. This can be easily corrected by the manufacturing company, as something that only needs further improvement. To Sum Up People often use impact drivers instead of the usual cordless drills because of the driving power and torque the former can offer. Impact drivers are now increasingly popular, and preferred by people who are serious about DIY projects. The Bosch PDR 18 LI Cordless Impact Driver is one impact driver that should be taken into serious consideration for light to semi-heavy use. It is a great buy, and with its additional batteries, longer life is to be expected. Though there are minor issues, these are definitely very minor. If you are looking for an impact driver great for general use, then the Bosch PDR 18 LI Cordless Impact Driver is an excellent option. With its high torque and easy-to-use shape, it offers value and performance and is a must have in every toolbox. I think the concept is perfect for people who mainly use a Desktop and sometimes needs a laptop for casual out of the office meeting or couch surfing/mailing. From your review, I would suggest a few things to Asus: - Have a memory slot for possible upgrade - Have 1024 pixels width LCD panel (to match most applications/web sites). - Have an SD card reader (To compensate for the SSD small size) - Have at lease 2 USB port (Plug a mouse, MP3 player, external HDD) For the rest, the concept is great! • - Friday, January 04, 2008 - There are plans for Asus to put a 1024x600 screen in th Eee PC. That will solve issues with programs that require an 800x600 res, especially under XP. '> Just like a car, it's usually a good idea not to buy the first model year. Gives them time to iron out the kinks. Eee PC 2.0 looks promising, especially with WiMAX support built in. My big wishlist for this system is still HDD space and battery life. |
